SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Officers discovered an unattended backpack in the SoMa neighborhood Thursday, the San Francisco Police Department said on Twitter. The bag police discovered on 7th Street and Mission Street was full of narcotics. Police seized 254.3 grams of heroin, 287.2 grams of methamphetamine and 603.4 grams of fentnayl. A photo of the backpack and the contents inside it can be seen below.(San Francisco Police Department)The amount of fentanyl (~600,000 milligrams) seized could potentially kill approximately 300,000 people. According to the DEA, two milligrams of fentanyl can be lethal. The discovery was made on the same day Mayor London Breed said the majority of people arrested for drugs are not from the city. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The alarming number of fentanyl overdose deaths continues to grow this year in San Francisco. Fifty-three people died of overdoses in June, and 78 fatally overdosed in May."This year-to-date in San Francisco, almost 80% of our preliminary overdose deaths are due to fentanyl," said Dr. Grant Colfax, Director of the San Francisco Department of Public Health. (KRON) -- The Fairfield Police Department is looking for a 14-year-old girl who has been missing since Thursday. Boy, 8, injured in Oakland freeway shooting Brooke Mellomida of Fairfield was last seen leaving Regatte Circle at 5 p.m. Thursday. She was heading to an unknown destination using rideshare (Uber/Lyft), FPD said. The car is a Hyundai Elantra sedan with the California license plate 8PZU706. Brooke was wearing a gray sweatshirt and dark-colored jeans. She stands 5-foot-6 and weighs 175 pounds. She has brown hair partially dyed blue and blue eyes.Police were able to ping her phone near Laurel Creek Park and Cement Hill at about 4:55 p.m. Friday, but Brooke was not there.
