DENVER (KDVR) -- Everyone learns it in grade school: When temperatures hit 32 degrees, rain turns to snow, and lakes and ponds start to freeze. But in Colorado, the temperature is only one of the factors leading to snow. Wind, and specifically the wind direction, will lead to warmer, drier conditions or colder, wetter weather. This area will see the most snow on Friday FOX31 Pinpoint Weather Meteorologist Liz McGiffin explained how potential wind flow could change Denver's upcoming snow forecast."It's interesting with the topography of where we are, because if we get a westerly shift in the breeze, that is a downsloping breeze, so the wind is going down the mountains. And that naturally creates more friction, so it's a warming and a drying wind," McGiffin said. If a westerly wind occurs during this Friday's storm, snow totals will lessen, she said. She noted that during the Dec. 2 snowstorm, a shift in the wind limited snow totals. Areas like Rabbit Ears Pass had high winds and, of...Aurora police seek 3 for shooting, assault on Colfax

The shooter did not appear to be targeting students, law enforcement officials said. All four people killed were faculty members. CASA GRANDE, Arizona (KPHO, KTVK) — Nino Di Giulio needs a kidney. But instead of waiting years for a match through the national donor database, he put an ad up on his truck.“A lot of people sending me emails saying they wanted to help me,” Di Giulio said. “I was surprised. I thought I’d get a couple, but nothing like what I got. I even got an email from South Africa.”Unfortunately, none of the kind-hearted people who reached out to the Mesa dad panned out. Then one day as Di Giulio was parked in a Casa Grande neighborhood, a woman who lives nearby knocked on his window and asked if he still needed a kidney. That woman was Renee Black.“I was walking the dog one day, and I walked by and saw his truck,” Black recalled. “I just read the sticker and I thought, oh my God, how sad. He’s in need.”Black and Di Giulio spent a couple of hours talking and quickly became friends.
