Two Liberty Hill students get perfect ACT scores

LIBERTY HILL, Texas (KXAN) — Two students in Liberty Hill ISD are celebrating after getting perfect scores on the ACT.Conrad Gerten and Abbie Parsons are both seniors at Liberty Hill High school, both students told KXAN they thought they would do well on the test, but were surprised when they saw a perfect "36" on their test results."I wasn't expecting a perfect score," said Conrad Gerten. "I was expecting somewhere in the 30's because of my SAT score, but it was definitely very unexpected and I was very happy to have that score." Georgetown student earns perfect ACT score Abigail Parsons said she credits her teachers with helping her score so well."The teachers at the school helped me because I didn't get a lot of algebra and geometry teaching because of the pandemic, but some of my teachers that taught pre-cal and calculus have helped me learn the fundamentals better," Parsons said.Last spring students from Georgetown and Round Rock also earned a perfect ACT score.After trailing early, No. 4 Westlake roars back for 67-14 win over upset-minded Anderson

LIBERTY HILL, Texas (KXAN) — Liberty Hill has seen significant growth over the years with the population tripling from 2010 to 2020.The school district currently has plans for up to four high schools, with the second high school opening in 2026."We are up over 1,000 kids this year," said Liberty Hill ISD Superintendent Steve Snell.Snell showed KXAN a map of the district where he highlighted new developments and possible locations for future schools."1,600 homes here," Snell said as he pointed out a development. The Eastview Lightning cruised to a 42-14 homecoming victory over the Park Wolfpack on Thursday night.There wasn’t much that went wrong for Eastview all night long. The running game served the Lightning well, with the team rushing for over 150 yards in the game between the trio of Damon Green, Drew Bartosh and Cooper DeSutter.Eastview’s defense had its share of big plays as well, winning the turnover battle 4-1. The Lightning scored on two of those turnovers, with two of their interceptions being returned for touchdowns. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Two police helicopter pilots survive a scare in midair.The St. Louis Metro Air Support officers spoke with FOX 2 after a duck strike last week.It left the officers bloodied and took out much of their windshield. The duck was killed.It had been a routine night. The officer/pilots were on patrol. It was around 7:30 p.m. It had just gotten dark. They didn’t even see the danger coming.“We train for emergency procedures. LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. – The town of Silex is getting answers from the state and the Environmental Protection Agency about the city's water contamination.The Missouri Department of Natural Resources says the town's water system consistently tests above the standard limit for radium.“We had been using tap water, yes. So now, I don’t know what we’re going to do. We just talked about, I looked up some on the internet myself, and we talked about just putting a water softener in ourself," Kevin Creech, Lincoln County Moose Lodge administrator, said.
